FNF Commons

Welcome to The Commons, the wiki space for the Free Network Foundation.

The possibilities of our platform are endless. Experiment. The whole point of this space is do whatever you like.

We will use this space to collaborate on a tapestry of information.
We will do so by generating articles.

'We' includes 'you'

For help with the wiki interface, please read the Instructions page.

Platforms for release

The Free Network Foundation is an educational and outreach organization. We are looking to enable operators all over the world to have a standardized software/hardware stack for operating their local portion of the global FreeNetwork.

Sound like a good idea? Want to help build that stack? Are you a system/network engineer, software developer, QA, project manager? If so then you are in the right place!

Once you have identified a platform you wish to work on, please do the following:

1) Go to http://chili.freenetworkfoundation.org/account/register and create an account

2) email charles@knownelement.com with the username that you picked and the project you would like access to. Also give a brief overview of your skills and how you would like to contribute to the project.

Right now we are in the process of building out that stack (using lots of existing systems and a few new ones). Below please find our wiki pages on the various "platforms for release" that we are working on.

The individual wiki pages have a link to the chili project (which have the involved tasks, host the releases for download, have development road maps etc) for each platform. We are using MediaWiki instead of the Chili wiki for web content about each platform.

Resources for operators

This is under heavy construction (actually it's pretty much non existent right now). We are still building out the components that would be involved in a operator deployment. Once that is completed, we will have solid operator focused documentation.

Resources for developers

(We need the above two items merged together into the FreedomTower page). Would you be able to help with that?
