Did YOU write the description of me on my user page? :) By the way, you can find my public key on pgp.mit.edu. For some reason that was the only public key server website that accepted my public key with the command gpg --send-keys --keyserver ''keyserver'' ''key ID''. Anyways, look my name on that server and send me an encrypted email. This is so exciting!!! | |||

Environmental Impact of Internet
Isaac, According to a fascinating article in the New Yorker by David Owen [1], environmental advocate Stan Cox has claimed that "by 2014, the U.S. computer network alone will each year require an amount of energy equivalent to the total electricity consumption of Australia". I feel that it is the responsibility of the free network movement, as pioneers in internet freedom and innovation, to also commit to being pioneers in environmental stewardship as it pertains to the creation of a "civilization of the mind in cyberspace". In order to make sure our new, cyberspace based civilization can thrive, we must ensure that civilization grounded to planet earth is sustainable, and be part of the solution, not the problem. --Jacobwhite 17:47, 25 December 2010 (CST)
